How its made brit insurance awards

here is dune 2010 modular outdoor furniture for eternit this furniture stood out to me because of the material used, the smooth pebble like shapes from the furniture

Furniture Award Winner 2011: Branca, Industrial Facility. From a distance I thought it was just another nice chair. But from a closer look at the joints used to make the chair it grew on me. The chair is a lot lighter than it looks as well which surprised me when trying to pick it up. But the most interesting bit is the manufacturing I think being able to see this piece grow and slot together each time. See how its made

Those interested in prototyping will like how the Endless chair  is made by Dirk Vander Kooij.I would like to use this type of manufacturing as the products can be easily made once the design is drawn. Could be used to make different types of designs including the dune chair shape with more structure to it maybe

another fun how its made is the tape installations by nummen. This inspired a group of us to create our own type of installation in the studio of our trip to the design museum.

more to be posted on the trip to the design museum soon!
